Our Destiny is…Now.
Every year, our youth and young adult camp becomes a beautiful expression of what Esperanza de Ana is about: long-term discipleship, consistent presence, and walking with young people as they grow in faith, identity, and belonging.
Many of the young people we disciple first came to us as children, and over the years we have had the privilege of accompanying them through seasons of growth, difficulty, and hope. In a context where many have experienced instability, abandonment, or disappointment, consistent presence matters. Camp gives us extended time to reconnect with their hearts.
This year’s camp theme was “Our Destiny Is Now… Family, Friends, Community.” As our staff portrayed different biblical characters — including the paralytic man who was lowered through the roof to Jesus — our young people were invited to encounter the deeply personal and infinite love of Christ through these stories. Together, we were reminded that when we encounter Jesus, our hearts are changed and we are sent into the world to continue His mission. Our destiny in His Kingdom begins now.
In a beautiful way, this storytelling also had a deep impact on our staff, opening their eyes and hearts again to the profound grace and mercy of Christ in their own lives. We are seeing this spiritual growth throughout our team. It encourages our faith to watch the faith or our Community members grow. This growth is essential to the ministry of Esperanza de Ana. The children, adolescents, and families we serve are shaped first and foremost by the lives and faith of the people who walk with them each day. It is this life-on-life presence, more than any program, that makes a lasting difference.
Thank you for helping make this kind of long-term discipleship possible through your prayers, generosity, and faithful partnership.
