Missionary | Design and Development
Debbie completed a 5 month internship in December of 2014. She took on huge responsibility and served in submission. She faced challenges and personal fears, and met them with determination and faith. She fought spiritual attack and overcame through worship and the Word. She was invited back to serve a two-year time. Her sending church, State College Alliance, affirmed her call. Debbie's heart, gifts, and talents have already been shown to meet many ministry needs. Her primary roles being those of design, development, and discipleship. Alongside the missionary and national staff she will be greatly used to create spaces and communications to further the on-going programs and short-term projects. Other responsibilities will include teaching English and assisting in property management.
Kitchen Manager | Cook
Delia has been with us since we began. In all her years she has only missed one day of work. Her faithfulness and dependability are an invaluable element in the ministry. We all know that the kitchen is the heart of the home. So we know that Delia’s role is critical in the dynamic of the center and to the heart of each child. It is in the kitchen that many stories pour out, much laughter keeps us strong, and much work keeps us eating good food & healthy.
Director Casa Esperanza
Eddy joined us in the beginning of 2014. He has added to the staff dynamic in a perfect way. His heart is huge and his humility in service is a wonderful example to the children that he cares for, and to the rest of us he works alongside. While his primary role as tutor is direct-care for the boys, he is always available to meet whatever need arises. He obtained his driver's license while working with us, and took on the responsibility of "school bus" driver and helps with our many airport runs.
Administrator of Social Programs/Psychologist
Irma came on board in July of 2013, but from the birthing stages of the family center her experience and convictions have influenced the program that has developed today. She wrote the first draft of our internal regulations, living, code, and annual work plan as volunteer member of our home church in Lima. In 2012, through an organization she previously worked through, she led us in a quality improvement program that resulted in our current strategic plan. Irma has many years of experience working with vulnerable populations, specifically children. Her passion is to see all children receive a quality education. Her conviction is that all children have a right to live in family.
Jim & Tony Kay have been married for 30 thirty years. In 2007 they heard a call from God to “get rid of their stuff and be available.” Jim left a 30-year career in operations management. After home-educating their sons, Tony Kay was just beginning a career in IT management and looking forward to being grandma; she has a degree in Non-profit Business Management. Their story is one of learning immediate obedience and growing faith. They oversee two projects, Nuevos Amigos in Ecuador and Esperanza de Ana in Peru. Tony Kay & Jim focus on shepherding national staff, strengthening families, and educating children. They live on-site at the project in Perú.
Missionary I Teams + Teaching
Julie served as an intern in June and July of 2014. She assisted the english teacher in the school the children attend, and served as hospitality coordinator for visiting teams. She was great encouragement to our national staff, and brought an important dynamic into our missionary team. We are grateful for her choice to come back as support staff. She has currently committed to 10 months of service. Her primary roles will be shepherding the 2015 interns and assisting in the management and hosting of mission teams. Other responsibilities include working directly with the children in academic reinforcement and life-skills training.

Vanessa began working with us in 2013, teaching in our afternoon program. She relates amazingly with the children and is committed and comprehensive in her work. We are thrilled to have her on our team! Vanessa also teaches english in some of Chilca's local schools.
